Frequently Asked Questions

Find clear, straightforward answers about our legal processes, retainer structures, and trial preparation.
What is the primary focus of Adhikari & Associates?
Our firm focuses primarily on dispute resolution through the courts in Nepal—including District Courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court—alongside specialized civil, property, criminal defense, family law, and environmental law matters.
Where is the firm located in Kathmandu and how can I visit?
Our chamber is located at 16 Bhadravinayak Marg, CDO Tole, Thapagaun, New Baneshwor, Kathmandu-10. Our office hours are 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Sunday through Friday. We recommend scheduling an appointment in advance via phone (+977 985-1172938 / 01-5244513) or WhatsApp.
How are statutory court fees calculated in Nepal?
Under Section 69 of the National Civil Procedure (Code) Act 2017, court fees (अदालत दस्तुर) for monetary and property claims are charged marginally based on the claim valuation (बिगो). You can calculate an exact estimate using our interactive Court Fee Calculator on this website.
Does your firm handle environmental cases?
Yes. Advocate Abhishekh Adhikari holds a specialized Master of Laws (LLM) in Environmental Law from Nepal Law Campus. We advise individuals, industries, infrastructure developers, developing partners and institutions on environmental dispute resolutions.
Do I have to appear in court personally for every hearing?
In most civil and commercial matters, your appointed advocate appears on your behalf under an authorized Vakalatnama (वकलतनामा). You will only need to be present when the court specifically requires personal attendance, such as for recorded witness statements or compromise agreements.
Will discussions and case files remain confidential?
Yes, completely. Client-advocate privilege and professional confidentiality are sacred to our practice. All information, documents, and discussions shared with our advocates remain strictly confidential under legal ethics regulations.
